Northamptonshire homebuilder steps up community support as employees boost volunteering efforts
For this year’s Volunteers’ Week (1st to 7th June), Barratt Homes Northampton is celebrating a significant rise in employee volunteering across 2025 and 2026, as colleagues dedicate more time than ever to supporting local charities and community organisations.

The Northampton-based housebuilder offers every employee two paid volunteering days each year, encouraging teams to give back to causes making a difference across the region.
In the year leading up to 31st March 2026, employees at Barratt Homes Northampton completed 115 volunteering days – marking a 69% increase compared to the previous year as the developer continues to strengthen its support for local communities.

Held annually from the first Monday in June, Volunteers’ Week shines a spotlight on the invaluable role volunteers play in communities across the UK. The nationwide campaign recognises and celebrates the dedication of those who give their time to help others and make a lasting impact.
Simon Francis, managing director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many of our colleagues embracing the opportunity to volunteer and support worthwhile causes in the communities where we build.
“The increase in volunteering days reflects the passion our teams have for making a positive difference locally, and we’re incredibly proud of the time and energy they continue to give.
“We’re excited to build on this momentum and support even more charities and community groups in the year ahead.”
The recent volunteering initiatives completed by the division’s employees include improving the classrooms and play area at Kings Meadow School, and gardening at Northampton Hope Centre.
