Northamptonshire family launches "Splash for Joey" appeal to fund vital care for son with cerebral palsy

The family of a Northamptonshire student has launched a community fundraising appeal to secure essential, lifelong care for their son, calling on Northamptonshire businesses and residents to join their mission.
Joey Spinelli is an inspiring young boy who lives in Roade, and lives with Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy. The condition means Joey requires specialised, ongoing therapy, dedicated support, and specialist medical equipment to help him navigate daily life. To raise the critical funds needed for his treatment, his parents, Leigh-Anne and Dom Spinelli, are organising a private charity pool party event called "Splash for Joey" on Saturday, 11th July 2026, at Towcester Centre for Leisure.
Every single penny raised from ticket sales for the exclusive evening will go directly to the Just4Joey campaign through the registered charity Just4Children (England & Wales Charity No. 1164473).
The fundraising event will feature an action-packed pool session from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, giving attending families full access to the centre’s flume, wave pool, and giant inflatables. Following the swim, the family's fundraising efforts will focus on a charity raffle held in the café area from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, designed to raise maximum funds for Joey's ongoing therapy.
Joey's family is currently appealing to businesses in and around Northamptonshire to support their raffle by donating prizes—such as gift vouchers, products, experiences, or services. To allow adequate time to build the raffle packages and promote corporate sponsors, businesses are kindly asked to confirm prize donations by Friday, 20th June 2026. Supporting businesses will be featured and thanked during the event.
"Joey is a wonderfully inspiring boy, and as a family, we are doing everything we can to ensure he gets the specialised support and equipment he needs for his future," said Joey's mother, Leigh-Anne Spinelli. "This pool party is a way for the community to come together, have fun, and help us make a real, lasting difference in Joey's life.
