Northamptonshire author Helen Frost publishes her first children's book!
“The themes contained in the book enable children to gently engage with specific topics, encouraging them to talk about their own experiences of nature and being out in the countryside and inspiring them to go out and enjoy the outdoors for themselves.”
I was fortunate to grow up in a village in the Northamptonshire countryside and I wanted to share the wonderful experiences that I enjoyed as a child and still do as an adult with others.

I have a deep love for and understanding of the countryside and in my new children's book, 'Harvest Time at Raindrop Farm' I wanted to bring the magic of the land and the work of farmers to a younger audience through the storytelling of enchanting characters - all under the watchful eye of husband and wife farmers, Mr and Mrs Raindrop.
The publication of my book also coincides with 2026 being 'The Year of the Woman Farmer' so it is especially relevant because of one of its star characters, Mrs Raindrop, who runs the farm along with her husband.

The book is inspired by some of my favourite places in the county, (spotted as ideal locations whilst out either rambling or cycling) and is beautifully illustrated by Adrian Teal. The book engages with children by introducing them to archaeology, history, old countryside traditions which have been passed down the generations, conservation and how food is grown and produced on a farm.
The themes contained in the book enable children to gently engage with specific topics, encouraging them to talk about their own experiences of nature and being out in the countryside and inspiring them to go out and enjoy the outdoors for themselves.
The little group of friends embark on adventures which demonstrate good teamwork and the need to behave themselves on the farm so as not to get injured or upset Mr and Mrs Raindrop!
Both children and adults can have a go at Mr and Mrs Raindrop's quiz too!
My book is published by Troubador Publishing at £12.99 and can be bought directly from Troubador Publishing, Amazon etc or personally from me at my illustrated talks which I regularly deliver around the county.
