The 1st Hardingstone Scout Group is currently on the lookout for enthusiastic adult volunteers to help lead its youngest sections: the Squirrels (aged 4 to 6) and the Beavers (aged 6 to 8).

With high demand from local families, the group relies entirely on volunteers to deliver its program of outdoor activities, badge-earning, and life-skills development. However, to keep up with the energetic youngsters, more friendly faces are urgently needed to join the leadership team.

Luke Dillow, Acting Group Lead Volunteer, said: "Volunteering with our Squirrels and Beavers is incredibly rewarding. You get to watch these young children walk through the door full of energy, and see them leave with a massive boost in confidence, new skills, and lifelong friendships. We have a fantastic, supportive team here, and you don’t need any prior Scouting experience—just a desire to have fun and make a difference."

The group stresses that volunteering is highly flexible, with roles designed to fit around modern work and family commitments. Full training and ongoing support are provided by the Group and the Scout Association.

Whether you can spare a few hours a week or a couple of hours a month, 1st Hardingstone wants to hear from you.
