Northampton College students' work selected to exhibit in London
What happens when fashion meets a pile of unsold magazines?

Level 2 Fashion & Textiles students from Northampton College took on a live sustainability brief in collaboration with Magazine Heaven, transforming discarded pages into bold, wearable designs. Armed with creativity (and plenty of glue, tape, and imagination), each group reworked unwanted magazines into striking garments.
They then collaborated with Level 2 Photography students to capture and showcase their creations, exploring how the garments could be presented through imagery and storytelling.

This project invited students to rethink waste, turning something overlooked into something extraordinary. Along the way, they built skills in teamwork, design, and creative problem-solving.
From sculptural silhouettes to inventive textures, the final pieces show just how far imagination can go—proving that fashion doesn’t always need new materials, just new ideas.
