Northampton businesses challenged to put their best foot forward for charity

Northampton businesses are being invited to turn team spirit into charitable support when Business Fives returns to Goals Northampton on Thursday 18 February 2027.

Companies from across Northampton and the surrounding area can enter the five-a-side tournament for an afternoon of football, networking and fundraising, bringing colleagues together to support a charity of their choice.

Following OCM Wealth Management’s title-winning performance at the summer event, the challenge is on for local firms to make their mark on the next Northampton tournament.

Whether the ambition is to lift the trophy, build stronger working relationships or raise money for a meaningful cause, the event gives businesses plenty to play for.

Teams of all abilities are welcome, with a tiered format matching companies of a similar standard after the opening group games. Mixed squads can include up to eight players, and colleagues are welcome to come along to support.

Joey Burns, event lead at Business Fives, said: “Getting colleagues together outside work can make a real difference to a team. Add a football, some friendly competition and a charity everyone wants to support, and you’ve got an afternoon people can get excited about.

“We’d love to see more Northampton businesses getting involved, including companies that haven’t entered a team before. You don’t need eight brilliant footballers, just colleagues who are keen to take part.

“There’s plenty of pride at stake on the pitch, but it’s also a chance to meet people from other local businesses and do something positive together.”

A drinks reception, buffet and presentations will follow the football, giving teams time to celebrate their achievements and continue conversations with fellow participants.

Entry costs £495 + VAT per team. Businesses choose their own charity, with no minimum fundraising target. Business Fives also commits 10% of company revenue to charity.
