Northampton bus services to be updated from September
Stagecoach Midlands has introduced changes to bus services in Northampton, from Sunday August 30.

After customer feedback, Service 4’s evening journeys from Waterside Campus towards Kingsthorpe will now serve Northampton General Hospital; this partly replaces Service 9B, which will be withdrawn, between Northampton town centre and General Hospital.
Services 8/8A will have minor timetable changes, and Service 9A will replace Service 9B in the evenings and on Sundays. Evening links between Northampton town centre and General Hospital will now be available on Service 4.

Service 16 will have minor timetable changes to improve punctuality, and Service 18 will be withdrawn due to low passenger numbers. Service 55 provides an alternative service between Edgar Mobbs Way and Northampton town centre. For customers travelling through to the University of Northampton’s Waterside campus, frequent services operate between Northampton Railway Station and the town centre, where connections can be made to Services 4/4A/4B to continue on to Waterside.
On Service 55, the journey from Swan Valley to Northampton at 8.55am will now run at 9.10am, and on Service X6, an additional early morning journey will now operate on Mondays to Fridays from Northampton to Milton Keynes at 5.10am, returning from Milton Keynes to Northampton at 6.09am, due to customer demand.
On Service X47, on schooldays, a morning journey towards Raunds and an afternoon journey towards Northampton will now serve the centre of Irthlingborough in order to provide a facility for students travelling to and from Manor School in Raunds.
Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director of Stagecoach Midlands said: "We hope that the introduction of new journeys and improved punctuality will offer a significant improvement for our loyal customers in the region. It is important for such a dynamic and rapidly developing area that its bus services go where people want to travel and at times, they want to travel – and we hope that these updates will achieve just that."
