More than £30,000 raised by housing firm for charities
Staff from a Northampton housebuilder have raised more than £30,000 for charity thanks to an annual campaign led by its employees.
Miller Homes South Midlands, based at its regional headquarters in Northamptonshire, took on a 12-month fundraising programme to help raise money and awareness for two charities which had close links to the developer.

The housing firm has announced it managed to raise a total of £34,262 thanks to the efforts of its internal team and associated contractors and partners who contributed towards the overall fundraising amount.
Money raised by the housebuilder has gone to Milton Keynes-based charity Medical Detection Dogs, and national charity Groundwork UK.
Medical Detection Dogs is a charity who is responsible for the training of dogs to be able to detect odours linked to human disease, to develop less invasive and more efficient ways of diagnosing patients, leading to better outcomes.
Groundwork UK supports local communities across the country to help create a green and fair future through sustainable and practical means, aiding nature to recover and reduce inequality.
Gavin Jones, managing director of Miller Homes South Midlands, said: “Our most recent charity fundraising efforts has exceeded all our expectations thanks to the commitment and dedication of our fantastic team of staff and all our sub contractor partners.
“We’re very fortunate to have a team of people at Miller Homes who feel passionate about supporting charities and the community and so we’re very proud to announce a final fundraising total of over £34,000 which will go a long way towards helping two very well deserving causes.
“With plans firmly in place for our next programme of activity to help support yet more charities in our region, we are all motivated at the prospect of raising as much money as we can throughout 2026 and beyond.”
Fundraising efforts by Miller Homes South Midlands included a visit to Whilton Mill race track, where staff and contractors took part in a charity go-karting event, helping to raise over £20,000 of the overall total during its annual charity programme.
The developer plans to host another go-karting event in the summer, raising money for its new charity partner for 2026.
