Men's mental health awareness breakfast meeting
In a vital effort to challenge the stigma surrounding psychological well-being, a transformative Men’s Mental Health Awareness breakfast meeting was successfully hosted at Loveworld Northampton church. The community-centered event brought together local advocates, medical professionals, and creative leaders to provide an open forum for discussion, education, and emotional expression.

The initiative was organised and spearheaded by dedicated mental health advocate Mr. Olatunji Sarumi(TeeJay) who is also the Director of Intellectual Mindset Cic, a company specifically dedicated to fostering various community projects. Mr Olatunji Sarumi(TeeJay) recognised the pressing need to create a dedicated, supportive environment where individuals, particularly men, could gather to address mental health challenges without fear of judgement.
The morning commenced with a sumptuous breakfast, allowing participants to network, build camaraderie, and settle into a welcoming atmosphere. Following the opening reception, the event transitioned into a series of deeply impactful educational presentations delivered by frontline wellness experts.

Attendees heard from Mr. Ibrahim kadiya, a certified Mental Health First Aider and Coach, alongside Dr. Sylvester Mensah, a doctor training in psychiatry. Together, the speakers provided a comprehensive overview of modern mental health struggles, sharing practical strategies, clinical insights, and coping mechanisms to help navigate everyday psychological hurdles. The presentations sparked an engaging and interactive dialogue, with audience members actively participating in the vital discourse.
The educational portion of the event was seamlessly complemented by a unique, hands-on painting workshop hosted by acclaimed visual and award-winning artist Adaeze Adinnu, Founder of Fabloz Artistry. Designed as a therapeutic extension of the morning's discussions, the art session offered attendees a safe, liberating space to externalise their internal experiences, giving form and colour to their complex emotions on canvas.
The workshop served as a powerful catalyst for breakthrough, with both men and women in attendance embracing the opportunity to break the silence surrounding their struggles. Observers noted an extraordinary shift in the room as participants channelled their vulnerability into vibrant, original masterpieces, experiencing first-hand the profound fulfilment of creative release.
By bridging clinical expertise with creative advocacy, the event concluded with a resonant, unified message for the Northampton community: mental illness is an undeniable reality, but it can be managed and overcome. The organisers and speakers collectively urged the public to cultivate environments where individuals feel empowered to speak up, seek professional guidance, and reject the habit of bottling up emotional distress.
