Market Harborough Building Society extends monthly community Prize Draw

“Over the past three years, the Society has given back £1 million to the communities it serves”

After a year of making a meaningful difference to local causes, Market Harborough Building Society has announced that its monthly community Prize Draw will return for another year – bringing with it a further £12,000 in charitable donations. The initiative enables New and Existing members to turn everyday saving into community support, with one local charity benefitting from a £1,000 donation each month.

Over the past year, the Prize Draw has supported a range of local causes including Desborough’s Marlow House, Stoke Albany Village Hall, Cransley Hospice, Market Harborough Macmillan Cancer Support, Kettering-based Johnny’s Happy Place, the Bodies Hodges Foundation, and Northamptonshire Health Charity – all were nominated by winning members.

Members are automatically entered into the Prize Draw each month when they open or pay into a savings account. One winner is randomly selected to nominate a local charity to receive £1,000 – a simple way to save, and a powerful way to give back.

Reflecting on the continuation of the initiative, Toby Patterson, Branch Manager, said: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen how meaningful these donations can be for local causes. We’re proud to support the communities we serve and delighted to continue the Prize Draw into its second year. It’s a great way for savers to directly impact causes close to their heart – all as part of our Thrive Agenda.”

The Thrive Agenda is the Society’s commitment to empowering local communities. It turns everyday saving into meaningful support for charities and initiatives, creating real and lasting impact. Over the past three years, the Society has given back £1 million to the communities it serves.
