Local artist from Northamptonshire enters international Johnny Depp-backed art competition

“The competition gives artists from around the world the opportunity to showcase their work while helping raise awareness and funds for The Art of Elysium’s programmes supporting medically vulnerable children, adults, and communities in need.”

I’m an artist from Northamptonshire who has recently entered The People’s Artist competition and has got through to the top 10 in my group.

The fund raising competition is presented by Johnny Depp in support of The Art of Elysium, a nonprofit organisation that uses creativity to support people facing illness, emotional hardship, hospitalisation, and crisis.

Although The Art of Elysium is based in the USA, the cause is something that resonates with me personally. I have AUDHD and struggle with social anxiety, and art has become a form of therapy and a way of coping with the challenges I face day to day. Creativity has given me an outlet, a sense of calm, and a way to connect with both myself and others, which is why supporting an organisation centred around healing through art feels especially meaningful.
