Last chance to sign up online for Willen Hospice's Midnight Moo

The clock is ticking. Online entries for Willen Hospice's Midnight Moo walk close at midnight on Wednesday 24 June, just days before hundreds of people take to the streets of Milton Keynes for the charity's biggest fundraiser of the year.

The Midnight Moo, sponsored by Specsavers MK, takes place on Friday 26 June, with walkers choosing between a 5- or 10-mile route through the night, starting from Middleton Hall in centre:mk.

This year there's more to look forward to than ever. Performers will light up the route from start to finish: LED drummers and an LED juggler at mile 2, an underpass disco running through miles 2, 3 and 9, and live drummers at mile 5 cheering on those finishing the shorter route and spurring on those pressing ahead.

Mile 3 is the ‘thank you’ mile, marshalled by Hospice staff past and present, from clinical teams to fundraisers – a chance for local people to see familiar faces from their own experience of the charity's care. Mile 4 is the memory mile, where lanterns decorated by walkers will create a stunning tribute. There's also space on every Midnight Moo t-shirt for a personal dedication, and a memory tree at the start where walkers can leave a paper leaf in honour of a loved one.

Pippa took on the Midnight Moo last year with her gym, Fitness Tribe. She said: "The best bit of the Midnight Moo is that we get to hang out together while fundraising. The marshals along the route bring so much fun. They have music playing and they all give us a big wave as we pass, keeping us going. Fundraising for Willen Hospice is such an important part of the Moo for all of us. We live in Milton Keynes, so we know where the Hospice is and we see the good it does all the time. It's our favourite local charity and it has touched a lot of our lives."

Join the herd by signing up before midnight Wednesday 24 June at willen-hospice.org.uk/moo Registration is also available in person on the night.

Entry costs £25 with a t-shirt, or £20 without, covering the cost of putting on the event. Every walker receives a fundraising pack and sponsorship form, with a suggested target of £125 for individuals or £500 for teams. Anyone who raises over £200 as an individual will be entered into a prize draw for a country escape for two, generously donated by Horwood House. Teams raising over £1,000 are in with a chance of winning a ‘night in’ hamper.
