Kingsley Village brings learning to life

The Early Years outside area at Kingsley Primary School in Northampton has had a new lease of life and has been transformed into a village role-play area. Pupils in Reception at Kingsley now have the opportunity to role-play going to the hairdressing, popping to the shops, buying an ice-cream, holidaying in a caravan and travelling by train.

This exciting and vibrant area has been carefully designed to help children to develop their language, communication and interaction skills.

Natasha Goodridge, Early Years lead at Kingsley told us that, "Purposeful role play, guided by highly-trained staff, results in children developing skills in a practical and fun way. They love playing in our village and this really helps towards us achieving consistently above national average Early Year outcomes (GLD)."
