How a Northampton mother turned love into children's books
“For me, these books are not just stories, but emotional moments meant to be shared between parents and children.”
A Northampton mother has turned her passion for family, emotions and storytelling into a growing series of children’s books designed to bring parents and children closer together.

Diana V. Florea, whose books are published under Editura Bulgaras, said she was inspired by her son and “the beautiful emotions of childhood” when she began writing stories aimed at helping children feel understood and emotionally connected.
Her first book, Matei and Bulgaras - The Magic of Christmas Words, was published in December and focuses on kindness, empathy and the importance of loving words within families.
The book has since been added to Northampton Library’s collection and is also available through local bookshops, online platforms and international distribution channels.
In April, Diana released her second children’s book, Matei and Bulgaras – The Heart with Two Colours, a bilingual Romanian-English story exploring childhood emotions, sensitivity and acceptance.
Through the characters of Matei and his companion Bulgaras, the author hopes to encourage meaningful conversations between parents and children.
Diana said: “As both a mother and author, my goal is to create stories that children not only read, but truly feel.
“For me, these books are not just stories, but emotional moments meant to be shared between parents and children.”
The second book also features interactive pages designed to encourage creativity and help children explore emotions alongside their parents.
Diana added that she hopes the books are “only the beginning of a larger creative journey” centred around imagination, emotions and meaningful childhood memories.
