A Community Day for Everyone

At the heart of the event is the chance to bring people together, whether you have lived locally for years or have only recently moved into the area.

There will be plenty happening throughout the afternoon, including live music from Roy Hawkesford, a bouncy castle, face painting, and a variety of attractions for children and adults alike.

Visitors will also be able to browse a selection of local craft stalls and bric-a-brac, giving local makers, sellers, and community groups the opportunity to showcase their work.

For anyone who enjoys finding a bargain or something a little different, it's well worth having a look around.

Bring Your Four-Legged Friends for the Dog Show

One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the Community Dog Show, with local four-legged friends invited to take center stage.

The first classes begin at 12:15pm, with categories including Best Trick, Waggiest Tail, and more, before the finalists return later in the afternoon for the all-important Best in Show.

Whether your dog is a perfectly behaved showstopper or simply has plenty of personality, it promises to be one of the most entertaining parts of the day.

And, of course, spectators are just as welcome as competitors.

Homemade Cakes, Tombola and Local Stalls

No village community event would be complete without a good cake stall, and visitors can expect a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats throughout the afternoon.

There will also be a tombola, with the main draw taking place towards the end of the event, alongside local crafts and bric-a-brac stalls.

It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a slice of homemade cake, have a go on the tombola, and support the people and groups who make our local communities what they are.

Live Music Throughout the Afternoon

Local musician Roy Hawkesford will provide the soundtrack for the day, with two live sets planned.

His first performance begins at approximately 12:45pm, with a second set from 2pm, helping create a relaxed Bank Holiday atmosphere at Horton House Cricket Club.

The afternoon will then draw to a close with prize-giving, the tombola draw, and a few well-deserved thank-yous at around 2:45pm.

Come Along and Support Your Local Community

The Horton and Hackleton Community Day is all about bringing neighbours, friends, and families together to celebrate the fantastic community spirit across our villages.

There is no admission charge, so turn up, bring the family, bring the dog, and enjoy the afternoon.
