GCSE Results 2026: Northampton Academy welcomes stellar results

Northampton Academy is celebrating this year’s GCSE results which showcase a positive improvement for the school across all measures in comparison to last year.

Over three quarters (77%) of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths whilst 62% of students achieved the higher Grade 5 or above in both subjects. Securing the very top grades, one fifth (20%) of students achieved a grade 7 or above in both subjects.

Among the academy’s standout individual successes – all of whom are returning to Northampton Academy’s Sixth Form in September – are:

• Vraj who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;

• Widad who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;

• Ergi who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 7;

• Lucas who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and one Distinction*;

• Niki who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 6 and one Distinction*.

Speaking of her success, Widad said:

“I’m really proud of all the effort I’ve put in, and seeing it pay off now feels incredibly fulfilling.”

Today’s results follow on from last week’s A Level success which saw students secure places at some of the country's most prestigious universities, including the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Owen Jones, Principal at Northampton Academy, said:

“We are thrilled with this year’s GCSE results. Our Year 11s have achieved something truly fantastic today and they should all be very pleased with what they have accomplished, as we all are.

“These results are also a wonderful reflection of the hard work and dedication of our staff. It is a huge team effort, with every member of staff playing their part in supporting our students to achieve their very best. That collective commitment is what makes the Northampton Academy community so special. I could not be prouder to be the Principal of Northampton Academy.”
