From Scratch to Community Spirit: Overstone Gate Pulls Together First-Ever Summer Fete for Local Families

On Saturday, 25th July, the community of Overstone Gate is hosting its first-ever Summer Fete. What makes this event so special isn't just the promise of a great day out—it’s the remarkable story of how our estate pulled together to make it happen from absolutely nothing.

Overcoming the Odds: A Community United

In a time when many families are feeling the pinch, our local residents decided we wanted to create something joyful, supportive, and completely accessible for the children on our estate. Without any initial budget, the community rolled up its sleeves.

Thanks to an overwhelming wave of local donations, resident volunteers, and incredibly generous backing, we have managed to fund a fantastic day where all activities for children are completely free.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to David Wilson Homes and Overstone Parish Council. Their incredible contribution and support have been absolutely instrumental in turning this dream into a reality for our neighbourhood.

"We wanted to make sure that no child on the estate feels left out because of cost. Seeing our local parish council, developers like David Wilson, and neighbours rally together to donate everything from funding to prizes has shown the true, unbeatable spirit of Overstone Gate."
