Free scam awareness events coming to Northampton
Residents across Northampton are being invited to attend two free Scam Awareness events this June, designed to help people stay safe from scams, fraud and online threats.

Hosted by Homelium Care Northampton in partnership with AbilityNet, the sessions will provide practical advice on recognising scams, protecting personal information and using technology safely and confidently.
With scams becoming increasingly sophisticated, particularly those targeting older adults, the events aim to give local people the knowledge and tools they need to stay protected both online and offline.
Attendees will hear from AbilityNet, a charity specialising in digital inclusion and technology support, who will share guidance on common scams, how to spot warning signs and simple steps that can help keep people safe when using phones, computers and the internet.
The free events will take place on:
Bethany Homestead, Kingsthorpe, Monday 30th June, 10:30am
PHAB Centre, Northampton, Monday 30th June, 1:00pm
Free refreshments will be available at both sessions, providing an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, meet others in the community and gain valuable advice in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The events are open to anyone who would like to learn more about scam awareness, online safety and protecting themselves or their loved ones from fraud.
Aude N’Tandou, care manager at Homelium Care Northampton said:
"Scams are unfortunately becoming more common and more convincing. We wanted to offer a free community event that gives people practical advice and helps them feel more confident when using technology. Whether you're concerned about phone scams, emails, text messages or online safety, these sessions will provide useful information that could help protect you or someone you care about."
Places are free and everyone is welcome to attend.
