Family event in Northampton to celebrate healing garden's new look
On Saturday, the diocese of Northampton is inviting members of the community to their stunning healing garden for the blessing of a new gazebo, followed by pizza and refreshments.

The event will run from 2-3.30pm within the garden at the Cathedral of Northampton in Barrack Road, with arts and craft activities for younger guests to ensure it is a joyful and family-friendly occasion.
The healing garden is a place for people of any faith, or none, to enjoy sanctuary, peace and contemplation, whether they are grieving a loved one, survivors of abuse, or just in need of a tranquil space.

Within the garden, in the grounds of Northampton Cathedral, you will find statues of Our Lady and St Francis, raised flower beds, bench seating and a Remembrance Wall, in addition to the new gazebo.
Danielle Dixon, safeguarding co-ordinator for the Diocese of Northampton, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming people from the local area, wider Northampton and across our diocese to the unveiling and blessing of our new gazebo. We are committed to making the healing garden a welcoming and peaceful place for all and are confident that anyone who visits will recognise what an amazing space this is for the whole community to benefit from.”
Fr Christopher Perry, who will conduct the event, added: “I am proud to be blessing the new gazebo at the healing garden, which is already providing a vital space for peace and contemplation to so many, but could help so many more. Please come along to the event if you are able and see for yourself what the garden can offer.”
Within the healing garden, there is also space for loved ones to be commemorated with a plaque on the Remembrance Wall. Plaques are available from £150 with all proceeds going towards the upkeep and improvement of the healing garden.
