Delapré Abbey is inviting guests to experience the historic building like never before this Halloween with the launch of Delapré After Dark, a one-time exclusive opportunity that will give visitors the chance to spend the night camping inside the 900-year-old Abbey for Halloween.

Guests will be able to bring their sleeping bags and settle down for the night inside one of Northamptonshire's most historic buildings, with an evening of food, entertainment, storytelling, film and Halloween atmosphere before waking up to breakfast inside the Abbey the following morning.

Guests will begin their stay with a delicious two-course dinner in the Victorian dining room, before delving into the Abbey’s secrets on a guided Unusual Happenings tour.

Exploring the rooms and hallways after dark, the tour will uncover some of the stories, mysteries and unusual happenings associated with the historic building, taking visitors through its atmospheric corridors and rooms whilst delving back into the past with stories of spirit sightings and eerie events whispered about over the centuries.

The Halloween adventure will then continue with a film screening in the Abbey's 17th-century wine cellars, an atmospheric setting where guests can settle in for the evening surrounded by years of history.

Gathering in the Walled Garden for a crackling bonfire and hot chocolate, guests will enjoy midnight treats providing a final Halloween indulgence before settling down for the night.

With sleeping areas set up within its historic Georgian suites, guests will camp inside the 900-year-old Abbey. Bar facilities and board games will also be available throughout the evening, giving guests the chance to relax and enjoy the unique surroundings.

The following morning, guests will wake up inside the Abbey before enjoying breakfast in the Dining Room, bringing the experience to a close.

Alexandra Bridge, Events Coordinator at Delapré Abbey, said:

"We've never had people camp overnight inside Delapré Abbey before, so this is a really exciting first for us. We wanted to create something that allows people to experience the Abbey in a completely different way – not just visiting for a few hours, but staying after close, exploring its history, enjoying the atmosphere and actually waking up here the next morning.

"From dinner and the Unusual Happenings tour to watching a film in the underground cellars and gathering around the bonfire with hot chocolate, there's something quite magical about the whole experience. And, of course, the fact that you'll be sleeping inside a 900-year-old Abbey makes it a Halloween experience that's very difficult to replicate anywhere else."

Delapré After Dark will be hosted on the nights of Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October 2026 on Halloween weekend, with guests being able to book for the all-inclusive night for £200 per person.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own sleeping items, camp chairs and personal care essentials. Yoga mats and indoor seating will be provided. There are no showers available on site.

Tickets are now available to book via bit.ly/delapreafterdark.
