Daventry kids get behind-the-scenes tour at Amazon

The team at Amazon in Daventry recently treated their family and friends to a special day of activities at the fulfilment centre in the town.

A dedicated ‘bring your child to work’ day took place for employees and their loved ones, who were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, complete with a surprise appearance from Peccy. 

The children were escorted across the fulfilment centre – which is roughly the size of three football pitches – and engaged with robotics demonstrations, quizzes, and the chance to win vouchers.

Olga Ursu, Operations lead at Amazon said: “This was definitely one of our favourite days of the year at Amazon in Daventry. It’s a brilliant opportunity for our team to share what they do every day with the people who matter most to them, and for the kids to see firsthand where mum or dad works. Seeing their faces light up when Peccy turned up made it even more special.”

Vladimir Zhilin, who led the site tour, added: “It’s always great fun showing the kids around - their questions are the best part! They wanted to know everything from how fast the robots move to how many packages we send out in a day. Hopefully today gave them a bit of insight into what their parents get up to at work, and maybe even inspired a few future Amazonians.”
