Classic hits of the 50s and 60s coming to Northampton's Old Savoy

Fans of classic music and variety entertainment are being invited to step back in time when The Fab 50s and Swingin' 60s comes to The Old Savoy in Northampton.

The nostalgic afternoon show will be hosted by musical entertainer Andy Eastwood and promises a celebration of some of the biggest hits and most memorable stars of the 1950s and 1960s.

Headlining the event are The Dreamers, formerly Freddie & The Dreamers, led by Liverpudlian frontman Alan Mosca, who performed alongside the late Freddie Garrity. The group will perform well-known hits including I'm Telling You Now, You Were Made For Me and If You Wanna Make A Fool Of Somebody, alongside songs made famous by The Beatles and pioneering American rock 'n' roll artists.

Joining them on stage will be comedian Steve Barclay, whose set will pay tribute to some of the entertainment world's best-loved stars from decades gone by.

Singer Helen Farrell will also perform a selection of songs associated with some of the era's most popular female vocalists, including Connie Francis, Cilla Black and Dusty Springfield.

Organisers say the show will combine music, comedy and nostalgia in a feel-good afternoon designed to bring back memories of a golden age of entertainment.

The event will take place at The Old Savoy, home of The Deco Theatre in Northampton, and is expected to appeal to audiences who grew up with the soundtrack of the 1950s and 1960s.
