Bosworth Independent School opens its doors to families affected by Pitsford closure

Bosworth Independent School is inviting families affected by the closure of Pitsford School to attend two dedicated events on Tuesday 30 June – one in-person at 9.30am, which is an opportunity to meet the Head at Bosworth, and a virtual event at 17:30. These are about giving parents and pupils the opportunity to explore options for September and speak directly with the school’s team.

The events been arranged in response to the news that Pitsford School will close at the end of this academic year.

The Bosworth community said it was saddened to hear of the closure and recognises that many families will now be facing an unexpected and difficult period as they look for certainty, continuity and reassurance ahead of the new school year.

The parents’ events will provide an informal opportunity for families to meet senior staff at Bosworth, learn more about Bosworth’s academic provision, pastoral support and school community, and discuss how the school may be able to support pupils preparing for the next stage of their education.

Tony Oulton, the Head at Bosworth, said: “The community at Bosworth Independent School is saddened to hear that Pitsford School will be closing this summer. We appreciate that this will be a very unsettling time for pupils, parents and staff, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.”

“We want families to know that we’re here to help. Many local parents will understandably be looking for support, clarity and certainty for September, and events on Tuesday have been timed to give parents the weekend to reflect and research before we give them the opportunity to ask questions, meet our team and find out more about what Bosworth can offer. Although term ends at Bosworth on 26 June, our support for parents will remain available throughout the summer. Anyone with questions or who would like further information is very welcome to contact us.”
