Beachborough Prep commended for best use of education technology by Independent Schools Awards
Beachborough Prep School – located in Westbury, near Brackley - is celebrating after being commended for Best Use of Education Technology by the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.

The recognition reflects the school's commitment to combining outstanding teaching with innovative digital learning, ensuring pupils develop the confidence, adaptability and skills needed for the future.
As a Microsoft Showcase School, Beachborough has embedded technology throughout school life in a way that enhances learning rather than replacing traditional teaching methods. Pupils use digital tools to support collaboration, creativity, independent learning and personalised feedback, while assistive technologies help ensure every child can access learning in the way that suits them best.

Beachborough Head, Simone Mitchell, said: "This commendation is wonderful recognition of the approach we have developed at Beachborough. We are proud to combine the very best of traditional educational values with innovative teaching and learning opportunities, ensuring our pupils are not only academically successful but also equipped with the skills and mindset to thrive in a rapidly changing world."
The school's focus on digital innovation extends beyond the classroom. Beachborough is also celebrating the success of its Minecraft e-Sports team, which recently finished an impressive 9th in Europe and 39th in the world in the Daigon global schools competition.
Led by Head of Computing and Club Lead, Tom Dimmock, the team met weekly as part of Beachborough's co-curricular programme. Pupils completed a series of challenges designed to develop key 21st-century skills, including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity and strategic thinking
Tom said: "I am incredibly proud of the pupils and their dedication to the club. Each week they took on new challenges that tested their teamwork, resilience and ability to think creatively under pressure. To finish 9th in Europe and 39th in the world is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of their commitment and enthusiasm throughout the year."
