A Levels 2026: Northampton students celebrate A Level success as Bosworth records strong 2026 results
Students at Bosworth Independent School in Northampton are celebrating after receiving their A Level results, with a fifth of all grades at A*- A and three quarters at A*- B, and pupils securing places at universities across the UK and beyond.

The results mark another successful year for the independent day and boarding school, which combines a close-knit, highly personalised learning environment with an international student community representing more than 30 nationalities.
Top level results:

A*-A: 19%
A*-B: 44%
A*-C: 72%
This year, 19%of all A Level grades achieved by Bosworth students were A*–A, with 44% achieving A*–B and an overall pass rate of 94%.

There were particularly strong performances across a number of subjects, including:
17% of History grades at A*-A and 83% at A*-B
50% of Physics grades at A*–A
67% of Psychology grades at A*-B
75% of Further Maths grades at A*–B
Among those celebrating is Bianca, a local day student who joined the school on a 100% scholarship and studied Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry alongside an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) exploring particle physics.
Bianca achieved 4 As and will be studying Artificial Intelligence and Philosophy at Kings College London.
Reflecting on her time at Bosworth, Bianca said: “My favourite part has been studying in an international environment. As a day student, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet so many people if I were at a normal sixth form.
“I have also been able to be part of student leadership as Head Girl, which has taught me a lot about what it means to work and lead within my community.”
Also celebrating is German, an international boarding student who studied Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science and also completed an EPQ in particle physics.
German achieved A*, A, A, C, securing the grades required to go to the University of Manchester to study Mathematics with Management and Finance.
He said: “My favourite part of studying at Bosworth has been the interactive lessons with my passionate teachers. They have always been enthusiastic about teaching us new topics and encouraging us to take part in discussions and activities during lessons.”
Based in the heart of Northampton, Bosworth has around 240 students and deliberately maintains a smaller learning environment in which teachers and pastoral staff can get to know pupils individually.
Headteacher Tony Oulton said: " “We are incredibly proud of our A Level students and all they have achieved. It is wonderful to see them progress to top universities, reflecting not only their academic ability but also the determination and maturity they have demonstrated throughout their time at Bosworth.
“As a close-knit school community, we take great pride in knowing every student as an individual and supporting them as they work towards their goals. I warmly congratulate the Class of 2026 and wish every student success as they take the next step in their education.”
The results come at a time of growing interest in Bosworth among families across Northamptonshire and neighbouring areas and applications are already up 10% from last year.
For September 2026, the school is also introducing a new dedicated school bus service from Milton Keynes to Northampton, making Bosworth more accessible to day students living in and around Milton Keynes.
Bosworth Independent School caters for day and boarding students from Year 7 through to Sixth Form and is based in central Northampton.
