This start-up youth organisation hopes to make a difference by bringing people in their twenties together in Northampton.
The aim of Club 20s is to “bring back the OG meaning of a club” and the first branch is hoped to be the start of something special across the country.
Founder Ahsan Khan told the Chronicle & Echo: “It will be a group of like-minded people, a place to find new friends accessibly, and decrease the amount of loneliness that people in their twenties experience.”
The low pressure environment will also provide alternatives to typical meet ups that involve alcohol, to ensure everyone is comfortable and welcomed. Activities will include coffee meet-ups, picnics with ice breakers and games, bowling and rock climbing, just to name a few.

The first event is taking place during the last week of April, to combat the lack of opportunity to find and meet others of a similar age without the involvement of alcohol. This is particularly the case following a drift in secondary school and university friendships.
“I launched my own society at university and co-founded a youth organisation in Japan,” said Ahsan. “Our team is mainly comprised of volunteers with experience in hosting events and being on university committees. They are eager to get stuck in and our team is ever-growing.”
Club 20s has gained more than 1,000 social media followers since it was first publicised at the end of March, which Ahsan says shows there is a clear demand for what they will offer.
“Club 20s will be the OG meaning of a club,” said Ahsan. “We’re not a nightclub and there’s no dating app energy. It’s all about the vibes and we aim to bring a place where people can meet new friends, with no pressure or judgement.
“We’re starting in Northampton and hope to move out to closer areas, potentially becoming a national thing where people have Club 20s in whatever city they are in.”
