'Our best trampoline park yet': Very nearly time for £3.2m activity centre to open in Northampton town centre

A £3.2 million activity centre filled with trampolines, a huge ball pit, an obstacle course and more opens in Northampton town centre on Monday (February 17).

Gravity Active Entertainment has been busy creating its new attraction in Sol Central for months, which also includes a climbing wall, football pitch and cafe.

The centre was meant to open to the public today (Saturday) but the work was delayed by Mare Fair being closed due to the damage caused by Storm Ciara.

Michael Harrison, the co-founder of Gravity, which has 11 other centres including Corby and Milton Keynes, said they will be ready to welcome visitors from 10am on Monday.

"It's going to be the best one we've done up this point," he said.

"We've got lots of new attractions in Northampton that aren't at any other centres, like the climbing wall and ball pit with a billion balls."

The 30,000sqft centre is spread over two floors in the former Gala Bingo site but only the top floor will be open on Monday.

The bottom floor, which will be a New York City-themed area called Caddy Shack with mini-golf, bowling, darts, burgers, craft beer, cocktails and live music, is due to open in March.

Michael said: "It will be nice to see people down there, even if they're not ready to have a bounce, they can come and have a chat with us.

"We have loads of really popular birthday party offerings too so come down and check it out for yourself."
