Now, Northampton's Cafe Track, on the Market Square, has thrown its support behind the club by holding a fundraiser night this Saturday (October 24) in support of one of the club's charity teams, SANDS United F.C.

The Northampton team, which calls the Brixworth club its home, supports men affected by the loss of a child to sudden and neo-natal causes, and have been left in the lurch by the vandalism.

Cafe Track director Tom Cliffe said: "SANDS are a fantastic organisation and the destruction at the club is just heartbreaking.

"We've been holding these bingo nights to raise money for the cafe and they had anywhere from 75 to 300 people.

"Originally we were going to donate half of the money we raised to SANDS, but very generously Northampton Town FC have offered to underwrite the donation so Track aren't out of pocket.

"This is about Northampton organisation helping one another out so the more people we get in the more we can raise."

Tom says the cafe - which is currently choosing to remain shut because of its proximity to Northampton Market Square's coronavirus testing centre - will use the donation to run employability classes even when it can't welcome the public indoors.
