Introducing Northampton 10K: a new race coming to town with start and finish at Sixfields stadium
Course will go in a loop around Upton and Swan Valley on closed roads in June
Runners will be taking to the streets of Northampton in a new 10km race in June that will start and finish at Sixfields stadium.
The Northampton 10K on Sunday, June 6, is expected to welcome hundreds of runners of all abilities in a loop on closed roads around Upton and Swan Valley.
The start and finish line will be next to Northampton Town Football Club's pitch where participants will receive a medal and goodies upon completion.
The race, organised by RunThrough UK and supported by Northampton Borough Council, will raise funds for Cobblers' community trust.
A RunThrough UK spokesperson said: "We are excited to bring a new event to their calendar adding to their already jam-packed list of events, with over 200 chip-timed races UK-wide.
"With massive success bringing events to some of the UK’s most famous landmarks including Aintree Racecourse, Goodwood Circuit, Colchester Zoo, Hampton Court Palace and many more!"
Kicking off at the PTS Academy Stadium, the course heads north before going west along the A4500 Weedon Road to the Sandy Lane roundabout.
The course then doubles back to east along Weedon Road before going south on Upton Valley Way North into Swan Valley industrial estate.
Runners will then go east along Nectar Way, onto Upton Valley Way East and north on the A5076 Upton Way back to Sixfields.
All finishers will receive a unique medal, a goody bag and free official photography - online entries are now open with an early bird fee of £26.
