Now, the historic gardens are re-opening again every Sunday from August 2 to September 27 and tickets have gone on sale this week.

“We have missed our visitors and are really delighted to be opening again “ said Holdenby’s owner, James Lowther. “We’ve put in a lot of hard work to get the gardens ready and to do so in a way that is enjoyable, safe and fully Covid compliant “

For the first time since last September, visitors will be able to take in Holdenby’s beautiful Grade I gardens including the working Kitchen Garden, silver and fragrant borders, King Charles’ Walk as well as the original Base Court Arches from where Charles was taken away in 1647.

There will be a simple one way system around the gardens to preserve social distancing. As an added extra and to help with the system, Icarus Falconry Centre will also be open, allowing visitors to view their majestic collection of birds of prey.

To manage a safe flow round, tickets will only be available online through the Holdenby website, and hand sanitisers, screens and all other precautions have been taken to comply with Holdenby’s coronavirus risk assessment.

“To keep our visitors and staff safe, the experience of going round Holdenby may be little different from before but we really believe no less fascinating. Connie’s Vintage Tea caravan will be providing refreshments to enjoy after the visit, ” added Mr Lowther.
