Family festival in Kingsthorpe aims to raise money for local charity
Pub landlords are hoping to bring the Kingsthorpe community together at a festival raising money for local charity Thomas’s Fund.
‘Foxfest’ will be held at the Fox and Hounds on Harborough Road from 12.30pm on Saturday August 22.
It has been organised by father and daughter team Daniella and Mickey Willis, who took over running the pub nearly a year ago.
It’s the first event of its kind for the pub, and will include live music from 12 different singers and bands, a bouncy castle, face painting, glitter tattoos, food vans, auction, raffle and a food challenge.

Mickey, who formerly owned Mickey’s Café on St James’ Mill Road, said: “Foxfest is about bringing Kingsthorpe together for a brilliant day while raising as much money as we can for charity.
“We’ve got live music, entertainment and plenty going on throughout the day, so we’d love to see families, friends and neighbours come down, enjoy themselves and get behind a great cause.
“If we can fill the Fox and Hounds, give everyone a fantastic day and raise a really good amount for Thomas’s fund at the same time, that’s what Foxfest is all about.”
The landlords chose to support Thomas’s Fund after requesting suggestions from customers.
The Northamptonshire-based charity provides free music therapy to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and severe disabilities.
Daniella, who will be doing a sponsored silence and ice bucket challenge to raise money at Foxfest, said: “We were given so many suggestions but we chose Thomas’s fund, which provides music therapy.
“We thought the charity was the best choice as it is local to us and our pub is becoming known for its live music and entertainment
“It’s the first event of its kind for the Fox and Hounds and we’ve put and our heart and soul into planning a brilliant day for the entire family in the hopes of raising as much money as possible for such a good cause.”
