Events business keeps Halloween party tradition going at new location following shock Picturedrome closure
An events business is keeping Northampton’s Halloween party tradition going at a new location following the shock closure of The Picturedrome.
Boombastic Events was launched by John and Katie Donaghue in October 2014 and the business offers experiences that are inclusive for people of all ages to come along and enjoy themselves.
Daytime disco brand THE 2PM CLUB is the latest addition and has been selling out Northampton venues for more than two years. It is now packing rooms out across the region, in Leicester, Coventry, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Luton too.
Boombastic Events hosted some brilliant events at The Picturedrome over the years and announced the move to The Charles Bradlaugh on Earl Street due to the former venue’s unfortunate closure.

The business is bringing its first Halloween House Party to The Charles Bradlaugh on October 31, with two floors of music running from 8pm until 1am the following morning.
Boombastic has worked hard to keep a big Halloween night out on Northampton’s calendar, which builds on its successful first daytime event at The Charles Bradlaugh earlier this month.
Halloween costumes are encouraged, with prizes for the best dressed, and the two floors will be split between different genres. Upstairs, the soundtrack will be 90s and 00s throwback anthems, floor fillers and guilty pleasures. Downstairs, partygoers can switch to 90s and 00s indie and alternative classics.
John told the Chronicle & Echo: “We’ve wanted to put on a Halloween party for a while, and this felt like the right moment. With The Picturedrome’s annual event not happening this year, we wanted to give people another great Halloween night out.

“The Charles Bradlaugh has its own history of brilliant Halloween parties, so it feels a natural home for it. Our first daytime event there was a great start, and now we're looking forward to bringing two floors of music together for Halloween.”
The Halloween House Party is for adults aged 18 and over, and general release tickets are currently £12.50 per person plus booking fees. A group ticket for four people is priced at £44.
“It’s important for us to be able to do these events,” said John. “We welcome people along to get dressed up and have some fun. Our expansion into different areas has been well-received.
“We want to have a 40-mile radius from Northampton represented, and we’re looking for more DJs to work with us to fulfil the demand we’ve got for our events. Where there’s opportunities we can do well and communities we can help build, that’s what we’ll be doing.”
