Organisers hope they can celebrate the end of the outbreak with the Beckets Park festival in late July instead

Northampton Beer Festival has been postponed by two months due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The annual three-day celebration of ale was scheduled for late May but has been moved to July 31 to August 2 at the same venue, Beckets Park.

"As an organisation, we are monitoring the situation closely and following all government and NHS recommendations to keep the community safe," a statement from the organisers said.

"We are continuing to be hopeful that the beer festival will be safe to go ahead at a later date."
