Produced by Freckle Productions, the show first premiered in 2020 and has become a popular favourite with young audiences. The production features live music, puppetry and storytelling based on the original tale by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

The story follows eager dragon Zog, who is determined to win a golden star at Madam Dragon’s school despite a series of mishaps along the way.

Samuel John Taylor will play Zog, with Jess Lobo as Pearl, Lotti Brogan as Madam Dragon and Hugh Cotton among the cast.

Jennifer Sutherland, executive producer at Freckle Productions, said the company loved bringing Donaldson and Scheffler’s stories to life on stage and was delighted to continue celebrations following the book’s 15th anniversary.

First published in 2010, Zog has sold millions of copies worldwide and was adapted into a BBC animated film in 2018.
