Amy Winehouse’s original band coming to Northampton for special Back to Black show

Amy Winehouse’s original band will come to Northampton next year as part of a major tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of her landmark album Back to Black.

The Amy Winehouse Band will perform at Royal & Derngate on Saturday, March 20, 2027, as one of more than 50 dates on the anniversary tour.

Led by Winehouse’s long-time musical director and bass player Dale Davis, the band features musicians who toured and recorded with the singer throughout her career.

The Northampton show will see them perform Back to Black in full, alongside a selection of other Amy Winehouse classics.

Released in 2006, Back to Black turned Winehouse into a global star and went on to win widespread acclaim.

Her success culminated in five Grammy Awards in 2008, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist.

Davis said: “I can’t believe that it’s the 20th anniversary of Back To Black this year.

“When I congratulated Amy on the success of this incredible album, she said to me, not with any arrogance: ‘I knew what I was doing’, and at that moment, I realised that she knew exactly what she had created.

“It’s still an honour, pleasure and privilege to be performing these songs, from this timeless classic.”

The band completed a sold-out UK tour in 2025 and has also performed across Europe, Asia and North and South America.

Tickets for the Northampton show are available via Ticketmaster.
