Wet Wet Wet returning to Northampton to celebrate 40th anniversary of debut album
Wet Wet Wet will return to Northampton next year as part of a 40th anniversary tour celebrating their acclaimed debut album
The Scottish soft-rockers recently played in front of thousands of fans in the grounds of Delapre Abbey and will be back to headline Royal & Derngate on Thursday, October 14.

Released in 1987, Popped In Souled Out was the album that introduced Wet Wet Wet to not only a national audience, but a global one too.
It topped the UK Albums Chart and featured the hit singles Wishing I Was Lucky, Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes and Temptation.
The record went multi-platinum in the UK and established the band as one of the key British acts of the late 1980s, while breaking into the Billboard Charts in the USA.
Having spent more than 70 weeks on the UK albums chart, the record laid the groundwork for continued success, with the band enjoying many further hit albums and singles, including the number one singles With A Little Help From My Friends, Goodnight Girl and Love Is All Around.
Wet Wet Wet features member Graeme Clark, long-standing guitarist Graeme Duffin, and lead vocalist Kevin Simm.
Clark said: “When we made Popped In Souled Out, I was just a young guy.
“Forty years later, those songs have taken on a life of their own, and this tour is about celebrating where it all began without forgetting what followed.
“It’ll feel like stepping back into those original PISO shoes - only now with a lifetime of experience and with an audience who’ve been with us through every twist and turn.”
Wet Wet Wet have sold more than 15 million singles and albums and have featured in the UK Singles Chart and Album Chart for more than 500 weeks.
Their albums have been certified 20x platinum in the UK alone and they appeared on Top of the Pops 56 times.
On this tour, Wet Wet Wet will perform songs from Popped In Souled Out alongside some of their other best loved hits.
Special guests will be Roachford, Nick Heyward, Rebecca Ferguson, Heather Small, Johnny Hates Jazz, The Christians and The South.
