DJ Sterling Moss will be playing between bands on both days.

Friday’s headliners had stand-out number one hits in the late 70s with Rat Trap and I Don’t Like Mondays but disbanded in the mid-80s while frontman Bob Geldof concentrated on his charity work and a solo career.

The Irish new wave band, however, reformed in 2013 .

The Stranglers had 23 UK Top 40 hits and 17 UK Top 40 albums in a career spanning five decades, with major hits including Golden Brown, Peaches, No More Heroes and Always The Sun.

The Silverstone Classic is from July 29 to July 31.

Three day, two day, family tickets and day tickets are available and tickets must be bought in advance.
