The creative team and cast behind last year's hit re-telling of Cinderella take on another popular love story.

The Errol Flynn Filmhouse in Northampton will show the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Live season on Saturday, July 23, with a screening of Shakespeare’s heart-breaking tale of forbidden love, Romeo and Juliet.

Branagh directs, as he did with Cinderella, and unites his leading man and lady again, with Richard Madden playing Romeo and Lily James as Juliet.

Sir Derek Jacobi also appears in the production as Mercutio.

A longstanding feud between Verona’s Montague and Capulet families brings devastating consequences for two young lovers caught in the conflict.

The production has also been updated to present a modern and passionate version of Shakespeare’s much loved tale.

The screening starts at 5pm.
