Eamonn O'Sullivan from Abington has written a song that was inspired by all the key workers in his life - which has taken social media by storm.

The 31-year-old, whose mum is a carer and partner is a support worker, has been working on the front line in the care sector for the past 12 years in different roles, from support worker to senior manager.

And, this year the singer songwriter has kickstarted his own business, Epos Care, which is set to launch after lockdown measures are eased and will support adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems.

He said: "I was inspired by the amount of key workers within my family and friends who selflessly put themselves on the front line on a day basis.

"Also, all I keep seeing is negative media regarding deaths and shortages, so I just wanted to cheer people up."

Eamonn, who has been singing since he was in the school choir, said he had written the song in just two hours as he couldn't sleep.

He added: "Singing has always been a hobby of mine, I was involved in choirs all through school and now I occasionally upload covers of popular songs on social media and attend open mic nights.

"The song only took me a couple of hours to write. I literally was suffering from insomnia one night and put pen to paper.

"This was just a bit of lighthearted fun to show my appreciation to all the key workers and within my [Facebook] post I encouraged others to share and tag key workers in their lives".
