Noise rock trio 72% to play album launch gig at The Garibaldi Hotel
Northants noise rock trio 72% will be celebrating the release of their new album with a gig at The Garibaldi Hotel this week.
The band released their fourth album, ‘I’m Not Happy And That’s On You Three’, last month and are heading to the Bailiff Street venue in Northampton on Friday, March 20.

The album was recorded and mixed by drummer and singer Joel Harries who is joined in 72% by guitarists Josh Ryan and Joe Brown.
Talking about their new album, Mr Harries said: “After 18 years of making music together you might imagine the intensity could have dulled even slightly but this is definitely not the case.
“This record is the densest sounding and most unsettling collection of tracks yet.
“It was self-produced by us and recorded at my studio in Manchester.
"The album is a sometimes slovenly, sometimes blistering and often frenetic listen. “Mangled guitars, lurching rhythms and blasts of vicious vocals set a tone that shows we're still hell bent on creating abrasive yet compelling music.”
The album follows 2019’s ‘How Is This Going To Make It Any Better’ and last month the band held a listening party to mark its release at Yellow Bourbon in Weedon.
The nine-track album also features guest vocals by Jesse Matthewson from Canadian noise rock band KEN Mode.
It was mastered by Stephen Kerrison and has been released by Other Shoe records – the new label by Alan Moore.
‘I’m Not Happy And That’s On You Three’ is available digitally via 72%’s Bandcamp page where it can also be ordered on vinyl and CD.
This Friday’s gig will be headlined by Bristol’s Gumdrop who are on tour supporting the release of their debut EP Stencil. Also on the bill are Mum & Dad Talk To Animals.
Doors open at 7.30pm, admission is free.
