Music showcase LinkFest heading to Picturedrome this weekend
More than 150 children, teenagers and adults from across Northampton will take to the stage this weekend as part of a large-scale music showcase designed to build confidence, resilience and teamwork through live performance.
The event, called LinkFest, has been organised by Drummers Link Music School and will take place at The Picturedrome on Sunday, March 8.

Performers aged six years and older will perform in front of live audiences of family and friends across three concerts.
Unlike a traditional recital, LinkFest is structured as a high-energy, professional-style concert experience.
Students will perform in groups, with advanced learners leading sections on the acoustic drum kit, supported by stage lighting and full production, creating a real concert atmosphere.
Founder Cameron Stewart-Mathews said: “For many of our students, this is their first time performing on a professional stage.
“The transformation we see from rehearsal nerves to walking off stage to applause is incredible.
“It’s not just about learning an instrument, it’s about confidence, belonging and discovering what they’re capable of.”
Drummers Link has seen significant growth over the past two years, with more than 175 weekly students now attending group drumming sessions in Northampton.
The programme focuses on teamwork and musical collaboration, with students learning to perform together rather than in isolation.
Mr Stewart-Matthews added said parents consistently report increased confidence, improved focus and stronger social skills as a result of the group learning format.
He added: “Standing on stage in front of hundreds of people is a powerful moment for a young person.
“We believe those moments stay with them for life.”
