Millie Manders and The Shutup to bring Age Disgracefully tour to The Black Prince

Millie Manders and The Shutup are returning to The Black Prince at the end of October as part of a UK tour following the release of their latest single.

Talking about the new single, Mille said: “Ageing, especially in front of the media or an audience, and even more so as a woman, is still largely seen as something we should all disapprove of.

“I have spent most of my life tearing myself apart in front of the mirror so I wrote these lyrics in part to try and shake myself, in part to inspire others to be kinder to themselves, and as a whole heap of f*** you to the amount of anti-ageing adverts I am bombarded with on a daily basis.”

The forthcoming 16-date tour will see the band consciously playing more intimate venues than they have recently been used to, with support coming via four of the UK’s most exciting emerging bands – The Empty Page from Manchester, Bugeye from London, TOAST from Cheltenham and Tokyo Taboo from London.

In Northampton, they will be supported by The Empty Page.

Speaking about the tour, Millie says: “Coming back to grassroots venues with a smaller capacity than we have been playing recently is going to be so wonderfully intense and intimate.

“We will be bringing our melting pot of party and rage as we Age Disgracefully in a time that is so unforgiving in so many ways.”

Millie Manders and The Shutup are currently working on their third album which will follow their 2020 debut Telling Truths, Breaking Ties and 2024’s Wake Up, Shut Up, Work.

Manders is joined in the band by guitarist Joe Quigley, bassist Georgina Boreham and drummer Pete Wright.

The band’s cross-genre rock has earned them main stage appearances at notable festivals including Slam Dunk, Rebellion and Beautiful Days alongside extensive support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Radio X and across the national press.

Tickets for the gig at the Abington Square venue in Northampton cost £17.50 in advance before fees via https://www.skiddle.com/e/42464977
