Har-Q to headline The Lab as part of venue’s latest live stream
Har-Q will be joined by Leo Robinson and Shakey Jake at the Northampton music venue this weekend.
Music and arts venue The Lab is back with its fifth live stream tomorrow night.
The Charles Street venue has been broadcasting live sets while it has been unable to open due to lockdown.
On Saturday, Har-Q will be joined by Leo Robinson and Shakey Jake for a night of beats, hip-hop and drum n’ bass.
Hannah Felce, who co-manages The Lab with Gemma Murdoch, said: “This is our fifth streaming event which we have been very lucky to be able to put on thanks to Arts Council England and NN1 Audio.
“The production quality is off the scale and, in a way, we are very lucky to be in lockdown and work with a team that would otherwise be touring the country on large scale arena events.
Talking about this week’s line up, Miss Felce said: “Har-Q have a unique sound and blend funk and jazz with hip hop and rap, a truly talented quintet and an undeniable powerhouse on the Northampton music scene.
“Leo is part of the Lay It Down collective who have hosted many an event at The Lab.
“He is going to be performing alongside Shakey Jake, a DnB legend in NN.”
The Lab operates as a members club. When lockdown is lifted and venues are permitted to reopen, anyone who wants to attend events there needs to be a member or to sign up.
Further details about this will be available on its Facebook page in due course.
Miss Felce added: “We are so grateful to have been able to bring these streams to our community in a time where live music has all but vanished from our lives, but we can’t wait to get back to doing what we do best, putting on gigs and making people smile.”
The performances will again be broadcast on Facebook, Twitch and Instagram.
Saturday’s performance follows live broadcasts from the venue by The NN Social which included sets by Pieces and Afreine and Karl Phillips and Connor Osborn who recently hosted the Bant & Decks Saturday Night Takeaway quiz.
Music is from 8pm on Saturday, March 27. For more details, visit https://www.facebook.com/thelabnorthampton
