The Geddington Amateur Dramatics Society will presebnt Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

The show tells the infamous story of Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who sets up a barber shop down in London which is the basis for a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs. Lovett.

It is one of the most popular horror stories of all time, gaining its first recognition as a 1930s melodrama with Tod Slaughter playing the title role. Towards the end of the 1970s the story was turned into a musical and it was this version which was turned into a feature film directed by Tim Burton and starred Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.
