The first single from the album, Over the Hills and Far Away, was released in May. Popularised in contemporary culture by John Tams’ in the 1990s British television series Sharpe, it was also notably recorded by former Steeleye Span member Tim Hart on his album My Very Favourite Nursery Rhymes.

Now, Steeleye Span have given their own distinctive take on the traditional English folk song.

Steeleye Span helped change the face of folk music by taking it into the world of gold discs and international tours.

While numerous members have come and gone over the years, they remain led by singer Maddy Prior who is joined by Andrew Sinclair, Roger Carey, Liam Genockey, Julian Littman and Athena Octavia.

They headline the Corby venue on Thursday, October 22. Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets cost £29.50 in advance before fees.
