Bootleg Beatles play Derngate

The Bootleg Beatles have received critical acclaim across the world, played more than 4,000 shows and have played in front of celebrity audiences that have included Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison and the Queen.

They have played at venues including Wembley Stadium, Glastonbury and Earl’s Court sharing the stage with the likes of Rod Stewart, Elton John, David Bowie, Seal and Iggy Pop.

The show promises traces the Fab Four’s journey through the 1960s, with every tiny detail meticulously covered, from costumes and authentic period instruments to their witty banter and inflection-perfect vocal mimicry.

There will also be video imagery to complement each song and a little help from the band’s orchestra.

The Bootleg Beatles play Royal & Derngate on Sunday, March 12 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £30 before fees.

On Sunday, Northamptonshire Music And Performing Arts Trust present a 20th Anniversary Wind Band Spectacular. The show will feature music the County Junior Wind Orchestra, conducted by Pam Carter and Meghan McCrimmon, the County Training Wind Orchestra, conducted by Andy Macfarlane and Matt Butler and the Northamptonshire County Youth Concert Band conducted by Peter Smalley. Doors open at 8pm, ticket cost from £10 to £15.

Tickets are on sale for Squeeze will return to the region later this year.

The group formed in 1973, shortly after Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook had begun their songwriting partnership. Past hits have included Cool For Cats and Up The Junction.

The show will also include songs from their latest album Cradle To The Grave, their first collection of new tracks since 1998.

They play Royal & Derngate in Northampton on Wednesday, September 7.
