Billy Lockett announces free Northampton gig to end UK tour
The show at The Black Prince will see the singer songwriter return to the venue where he played his first gig.
Billy Lockett will return to the Northampton venue where he played his first ever gig later this month for a free show to conclude his UK tour.
The singer-songwriter is playing 12 socially distanced dates across the country this month and will headline The Black Prince on Sunday, May 30.
Speaking to fans on social media today, Lockett said: “My first ever gig when I was 15-years-old was at The Black Prince (formerly The Racehorse) so I’m over the moon to be finishing this tour at the same place where everything started.
“I have a feeling this Black Prince show is gonna be really special.”
There will be no tickets for the show and attendance will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
The Abington Square venue is expected to provide further guidance for fans hoping to attend the show in the coming weeks.
Lockett last played a hometown gig at the Roadmender in January 2020.
He recently released his latest EP Reflections, which is available on CD and streaming platforms.
A 12” vinyl edition of the record is sold out in 24 hours.
Two local support acts will be announced by Lockett in the coming days.
