Bibb, Tyson and Ayers at Stables

The Stables continue a busy month of shows this weekend with Eric Bibb who headlines on both Saturday and Sunday.

With a career spanning decades and more than 30 albums, the blues man is back on tour in the UK following the release of his latest LP Lead Belly’s Gold last year. The record received rave reviews and debuted at number five on the French jazz charts.

On Tuesday, Nashville singer songwriter and guitarist Cale Tyson (pictured) brings his band to the venue.

Tyson’s latest album, High On Lonesome, is a collection of songs that continue the legacy of some of the legendary songwriters whose music he heard as a child including the likes of Gram Parsons, Guy Clark and Willie Nelson. Support is by My Girl The River. Doors open 8pm, tickets cost £15 in advance before fees.

The following night on May 10, vibraphonist Roy Ayers headlines.

Roy started out as a hard-bop musician but quickly upped the soul and disco elements of his sound with his sophisticated music becoming an uptown pop staple of disco-era black America.
