Isiekwe suffered a pectoral injury during the win against London Irish last weekend and will play no further part in this campaign for Saints.

The 23-year-old will be back at Saracens next season.

But Boyd was quick to pay tribute to Isiekwe, who has been hugely influential since joining Saints last summer.

"He's finished for the season, he's under the knife during the week," Boyd said.

"It's very unfortunate for Nick. He's played a great part for us this season and we've really enjoyed having him on loan from Saracens.

"But he goes under the knife during the week.

"When his rehab starts up, he'll come back in and join us until the end of the year.

"It's disappointing for him and disappointing for us."
