Furbank was forced off after just 29 minutes at Sixways, having earlier scored his side's first try of the game.

He tried to walk the problem off but went to ground and then hobbled from the field to be replaced by Tommy Freeman, who went on to play a starring role.

And when asked for an update on Furbank, Saints attack coach Sam Vesty said on Tuesday: "Furbs has got a little issue with his calf.

"It's nothing too serious but it will probably keep him out this weekend."

Piers Francis and Rory Hutchinson also came off at Sixways, with Francis withdrawn in the final 20 minutes and Hutchinson replaced after just 19 minutes.

On Francis, Vesty said: "PF had a HIA (head injury assessment) and passed it but at that stage we didn't think it was right to bring him back on. There was no need to."

On Hutchinson, Vesty said: "Hutch had an HIA and failed it so he's now going through the return-to-play protocols."

Matt Proctor could be back to boost Saints this weekend as he continues to recover from the calf problem that kept him out of the trip to Sixways.

"He's running around, he's done that today and yesterday so he's coming back into the frame," Vesty said.

"He's been playing excellently."

Dan Biggar was forced to withdraw at late notice last weekend as he suffered a minor injury while kicking in training last week.

"He's been running around today," Vesty said.

"It was a little niggle that he had and we've just got to be a little bit careful that it doesn't get worse."
